Gon constantly wonders the woods by his house on Whale Island. The older he gets, the farther he travels in, and one day, he stumbles onto something he knows shouldn't be that so deep in the forest - ripped children's clothes. His curiosity eventually gets the better of him and he travels deeper and deeper to where he shouldn't be. This story is about how pathetic Killua's life is. He has a big crush on Gon, but won't admit it because he's afraid Gon might not feel the same way. He's always staring at Gon's "perfect" body and daydreaming about him. It's so obvious that he's into guys, but he keeps on insisting that he's not gay, that he just has high standards, "Like being a guy" is one. He's is overprotective of Gon because he doesn't want to share him with anyone else, and wants him all to himself. Gon doesn't mind, because he also loves Killua, but wants to see how long he would last until he gives in, and confesses to him. But this was taking too long, so Gon decided to give Killua a push, and started to date someone. He knows Killua is insanely jealous, but is it enough to get him to come out into the (gay) light?

In 1958, a 14 year old chess prodigy Gon Freecss won the US Championship, and got the attention of the at the time best chess player in Russia, Killua Zoldyck. But Gon was dead-set on being the World Chess Champion, and after america, the Russians were next. A deep hatred for the Russians boiled in Gon's blood, for one of them killed his parents. His Aunt bought him a chessboard since he had asked for it, and he taught himself all the moves of the pieces, even if Mito took away the board he would memorize the moves in his head. Killua himself grew up with nothing but chess, forced to play or else his parents would beat him. Conditioned to never loose, the punishment death if he ever did.. Now in 1972, the two boys face eachother in Iceland to settle who is more deserving of the title of World Chess Champion, but will Gon's passion on the board melt the Russian boy's heart?
