A dystopian thriller that evolves into a violent sci-fi nightmare with hints of monster (very) dark romance. --------- Alice has a good life: a great job, a cozy, paid-off apartment, and a loving husband. She also has an oppressive government, a war-torn city, and general social decay around her, and what seems to be an alien invasion, though nobody is willing to admit it. You know, the kind of things that can really throw a wrench into a morning commute. She should have left a long time ago, but right or wrong, it's her country. What's the worst that could happen if she sticks to it? No, seriously, what's literally the worst?

Charlotte's Augment Capacity shouldn't exist. She has no idea what it means. The masked stranger who died at her feet may have been the only one who did. Before she can find answers, Charlotte is transferred to an elite academy run by PRODIGI, a megacorporation whose reach spans every domed city on the planet. She plans to keep her head down, but in the highest spire, her face is already on the director's screen. And PRODIGI isn't the only one watching. Cybernetic outlaws known as jackers are closing in, hunting something PRODIGI wants kept buried. Whatever links Charlotte's impossible Augment capacity to the Great Impact: the century-old catastrophe that forced humanity into these domes, the factions hunting her don't want her dead. They want her. In a world where a genetic lottery determines who can wield advanced Augments, the deadliest secret isn't buried in the past. It's written in her DNA.
