Everyone has his or her own backstory, one darker than the other. Our history makes us who we are today. What we do, what we think, it's all connected. Anna wants to leave her past behind, hoping to never be reminded of it. It made her run. Gabriel works with his past, his family history. It made him a leader. The girl who wants to be safe. The guy from whom no one is safe. Two different histories, one future. What does their fate hold of them? Warning: violence is a part of this book. Guns, knives, fights, it's all in here. FIRST DRAFT! Spelling mistakes will be edited ones the story is complete! I woke up in the middle of nowhere, it felt like a deserted island. I didn't know what to do or where to go. I was completely lost. I couldn't remember who I was or where I came from. I felt as if I was a lost, empty sea shell at the sea shore. But there was no shore. There's black water from afar, from the distance from where I am right now over the cliff. I can't see it too well but it's there. The ocean looks completely dark even in this beaming light of the sun I can hardly see through my eyes. All that surrounded me was grass, bushes, the nearby trees swaying in the wind with rocks underneath them. Rocks that are sitting there, quietly waiting to be picked up and thrown over the cliff above. I open my eyes wider looking to my right, across my arm and see cuts, bruises, and dirt over my light white skin. Noticing underneath is my sunflower blonde hair that has a bunch of dirt in it. I take a glance at my feet, completely covered in dirt with no shoes on. I notice my ripped oversized shirt that goes past my hips making its way into a dress that's ripped and has holes in them in the back and front. I feel the breeze of the wind in between my legs going its way through my oversized dress-shirt brushing its way through all the holes of my t-shirt. Causing my long t-shirt to slightly move around my waist when it was just sitting on top of me. I turn my head to the other side away from where the sun was facing and feel my body flat on the ground as a shape of a star. I'm just laying here.... It hurts. My body hurts from the feeling of sharp pain and the agony of my back and bones. What happened to me...? Where am I....? I move my left arm up and rest it over my eyes covering them under the sun. And begin to daze off again under the flaming heat... I'm sweating so much.... My hair is sticking to my forehead...And I question myself under my breath, "Why is the sea black? Where do I belong...?"

I heard it all, People think just because you don’t speak, you don’t hear. As usual, people are wrong. I had been paying attention since the moment Demi Lomato, or whoever the hell she is, walked through the prison-like doors of the rehab that me and the other screw-ups inhabited. That’s right, I live in a rehab. So while my fellow residents mobbed Demi like she was some angel sent to save us all, I hung back, awaiting for it to all return to normal –not that my life has ever been anything near ‘normal’- But as Demi’s eyes locked onto mine I realized things were about to change.
