I didn't chase. I didn't hunted. I was guided... I think something is wrong . At first, it was nothing. Just small things-repeats, patterns, gaps. Now it's... different. No filters. No edits. No rewrites. I'm posting this in real time-exactly as it happens. I don't know when it started. I don't know how it ends. I must document everything- in case I forget what's real. Or worse, in case something else remembers for me because if I don't notice what's happening maybe it's already too late. The Nutcase explores the terrifying possibility that the voice meant to protect us... may be leading us somewhere else entirely.

Lower your expectations. Never get hung on the unpredictable line of hope. This is Koen Seo's philosophy. A stoic basketball captain in a color-muted world and a painful history of being left behind. He mastered the the art of expecting the bare minimum. But when he gets his finger dislocated by a blue-haired boy named Aven Aoyama, his world slowly starts shattering. His best friend's secret relationship comes as a sting of betrayal, leaving him in a state of total isolation-vowing to keep to his zero expectations rule. What starts as an agonizing accident turns into a summer of unwanted proximity. The blue-haired boy doesn't stay a memory on the court. He follows Koen home. Wears his clothes after a rainstorm. Sits at his dinner table as if he belongs. A new neighbor resembling a socially chaotic blue whirlwind. He becomes witness to Koen's deeply hidden traumas that summer. Pulls him from the depths of drowning a second time. Rewriting what swimming in a pool means for Koen. Playing a sport for just fun should feel like. Koen finds himself letting go of his irritation towards the blue boy. He even mends his relationship with his best friend. Everything feels... lighter. Like it's worth living again. Just as Koen begins to believe that life might be worth the risk of hoping, Aven just... disappears after a single kiss. His house becomes a vacant echo of their time together down the street. Emptiness taking over the park where they goofed around. The poolside a blackhole of invitation to stop living. Lower your expectations, Koen reminds himself before he can let the unpredictable line of hope suffocate him. But Aven shows up at his school after summer. A new student joining the basketball team where their worlds collide in broken promises and fist fights before simmering into something dangerously addicting and fulfilling. Koen learns to expect without reservations and Aven learns how to be the undeniable exception.
