Eighteen-year-old Aru thought being adopted by billionaire CEO Suyodhana Indravajra would finally give her a normal life. He disappears for hours, takes late-night calls he refuses to answer in front of her, and seems uneasy whenever she asks questions about the lower levels of Indravajra Tower. Then Aru finds the hidden elevator. Buried beneath the skyscraper is a secret underground laboratory no one is supposed to know exists. Inside are classified files, strange experiments, and evidence that Suyodhana has been hiding something far bigger than a company secret. But Aru isn't the only one searching for answers. As she digs deeper into the mystery, she's pulled into a dangerous world of lies, surveillance, and people willing to do anything to protect what's hidden below the city. And the closer she gets to the truth, the harder it becomes to ignore the growing connection between her and the boy helping run the lab. A boy she absolutely does not trust. Now Aru has to decide who the real enemy is: the powerful man who adopted her... or the secrets buried underneath his empire.

As Aru navigates the true secrets behind her sentence to the orphanage and helps Brynne understand her past, she finds herself drawn to the cold boy who keeps everyone out.
