In a world ravaged by the deadly cordyceps infection that turns people into monsters, Zelda has been living in a quarantine zone since the outbreak five years ago. She keeps to herself in the hopes of staying out of danger. Her somewhat safe life is flipped upside down when a man named Link is hired to escort her across the desolate country to take her to someone she'd given up on. But life outside the zone and the people left are much worse than she thought, including the one closest to her.

While Zelda's ambitions send her higher, Link has been searching for a way down. His smile is perfect, his lyrics are better.
