"Wanna smoke or not?"
"What's the relation between smoking and coming closer to me?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Hai, kyu ni hai,"
Exhaling another slow plume of grey smoke, he whispered roughly,
"Lighter toh nibad liya, so the only option left is lighting your cig with mine and..."
He tilted his head, leaving a fingertip's distance between the tip of his cigarette and mine.
"And?" I prompted.
"And that requires me to be closer to you."
I stared at him, my heart hammering violently against my ribs, then gestured toward the unlit cigarette.
He brought the glowing tip of his cigarette toward mine, only to freeze just before they touched.
"Why the hell did you stop?" I muttered, holding the cigarette firmly between my lips.
"I can't light it..." he said, his gaze dropping to the single inch of space keeping our bodies apart.
Agh...
This man is teasing me way too much.
"You can bend," I suggested.
"My back hurts," he said, stepping away just a fraction. "Koi ni, kal lighter laa dyunga fer-"
Before he could finish, I hooked a finger through his chain and yanked him forward, erasing that final inch between us.
His hand instantly slammed against my waist to catch his balance, his eyes snapping down to lock with mine.
"Now will you light it?"
He let out a low, husky chuckle.
Then leaned in, pressing the burning tip of his cigarette straight into mine until both embers flared together.
