Based of a mix between the live action and animated version sam might be a little more like scott pilgrim but i'll try to still make him similar to his movie self

Marina Bell has had a rough few years. When she was nine, her mother, Amelia, moved her across the country to California to get away from her abusive father. They moved into a nice house but both were too dependent on Marina's asshole of a father and both found destructive ways to cope. Amelia found a glass of wine, which quickly became a box a night. And Marina found Corey. Then, she found Sam. Sam quickly realized she wasn't like anyone he'd met before. She acted tough and was tough. But also had a side she only let a few people see. The one where she could laugh so hard she cried. The one where she could sit in comfortable silence for hours and not worry about how she was coming off to someone. Marina showed him how to do his eyeliner and he'd pretend like he'd forgotten just so she could touch his face. She would help him dye his hair whenever his blond roots would come in. If only she knew just how much he loved her. A year ago, Marina overdosed on something Corey had given her. Her mother was too scared for her to know what to do, so George Monroe, their neighbor, started keeping an eye on her.

Mary Kelly just moved to a new town because of her dad's job. She was not an easy child but she did have a good connection with her dad. Ever since her mother married another men, she started taking drugs as she was not happy with her life. But when she moves to this new town right before summer starts, she finds a new friend that lives next door. She wasn't really her type of friend but she was nice. And then this boy came to live with his dad and her new friend just happened to be friends with him. The two of them didn't really start on the right foot if you know what I mean. - strong language, use of drugs, smut. - enemies to lover.

Two years after his parents divorce, Sam moves to his mother's birthplace of Charlotte, North Carolina which means a fresh start without the fresh. Unfortunately he faces the same problems he did when he was back home but not without the exception of his father trying to get back into Sam and his mother's life after his side chick leaves him after he loses his job. Despite that, Sam finds himself meeting Adina, the popular girl who he was paired up with for AP English. At first he seems standoffish towards her but as time moves on, he begins to slowly fall in love with her, much to his "moral" disdain. Sam is forced to spend the summer with his dad. There he meets Yn.

You've never meant to become interested in him yet you couldn't help but to become Intrigued. He dislikes you however how long will that last? All life as a house characters don't belong to me. I own the plot.
