(Hamilton College/Band AU) (TRIGGERS: weed, sex toy mention, swearing (I'll add more if I need to) Alexander Hamilton- 19 year old, socially awkward, traumatised orphan from the Caribbean. He's dream finally came true- he got a scholarship to King's College and he's not gonna throw away his shot! John Laurens- 20 years old, has a rich abusive and controlling dad, is a member of a band called The Revolutionary Crew and got into the same college as Alex. He's in the place to be, finally free to do whatever HE wants to do. These two are polar opposites- Alex is a workaholic, John thinks learning is boring, John is a social butterfly, Alex has no friends at all, etc., but both of them share a love for music (that Alex tries to deny). What happens when Alex becomes one of the band members in John's band by accident? Can these two learn something from one another? Or will their differences make it impossible for them to stand each other?

19-year-old John Laurens has been in college for four days before his roommate shows up. When John introduces himself, the boy doesn't say a word. So when Laurens asks for his name, he raises a hand and signs "Alexander Hamilton." This surprises Laurens just a bit, because this boy didn't look like the kind to remain silent. He's seen those people before, and the boy in front of him looks like he has a lot to say. But what's keeping him from speaking his mind?

In it, Laurens works the night shift at a coffee shop (who knows if a 24 hour coffee shop exists, but in fiction, anything is possible), that Hamilton decides to go to when after he gets struck with writer's block. After being thrown out of his seventh foster home, he gets adopted by an American couple named George and Martha Washington. George and Martha are incredibly kind and willing to do anything for Alex, but Alex finds it difficult to trust them. He worries that they will become angry with him and throw him out the way the rest of his foster parents did. He finds himself growing more and more depressed and angry, and nothing the Washingtons do can make him feel better. Alex finds himself desparate for acceptance, and ends up in a tumultuous friendship with none other than John Laurens, a gay boy rebelling against his homophobic parents. Will the Washingtons give up on Alex, or will Alex finally learn to trust again.
