It had been years since Shouta Aizawa had seen his sister - his life led him a different path and he couldn't bare looking back. She had never resented him for it, she smiled and wished him well at every prayer. Shouta had known she'd married a man he had no respect for - Hisashi Midoriya struck him as bad news - but that was as much as he knew. So, when he found out his dear sister had passed, he thought his responsibility was as far as planning her funeral; not becoming the guardian of her child.

So many things in Izuku Midoriya's life have gone wrong because of the "Hallucinations" he has. He knows that they are real, but nobody will listen just because they can't see or hear them. Nobody ever believes the quirkless kid, not even his mom. The one person who was supposed to listen didn't, and Izuku could tell that she just didn't care.
