Every day, Sofia and Buck risk their lives in the line of duty with the 118. They blindly rush into burning buildings, cut victims from car wrecks, make split-second medical decisions, and brave the relentless chaos of Los Angeles. After all the storms they've weathered together, they thought nothing could rattle them anymore. They learned how to save lives and amidst the vortex of danger, they learned above all how to save each other.
While the usual storm of flashing blue lights rages through the streets of L.A. and Buck's untamed protective instinct pushes him to his limits during calls once again, the greatest adventure of their lives awaits them at home. Suddenly, it's no longer just about the adrenaline on duty, but about the quiet, raw fear of their own courage. Buck, in particular, is caught up by the painful ghosts of his own childhood. He must face his deepest doubts to realize that he has what it takes to maybe, one day, be the father he never had himself.
Can they manage to protect the most precious thing they have amidst the blaring sirens, sleepless nights, and the invisible scars of everyday life? Because saving lives in the eternal fires of L.A. is their job but what if it turns out to be so much more than just the job?
This is the sequel to Saving Lives, Saving Us. So, I recommend reading Volume 1 first so that you know the backstory.
