In the year 3216, humanity has finally achieved what generations before could only dream of: a world without war, hatred, and suffering.
But the price of peace is memory.
Every citizen must surrender painful experiences through the Memory Tax, a government-controlled system that removes trauma, grief, anger, and anything considered emotionally dangerous. People no longer carry the weight of their past, and society believes it has finally escaped humanity's greatest weakness.
Seventeen-year-old Zamarah Voss is one of the people who maintains this perfect world. As a Memory Technician, she helps others forget the moments that hurt them --- until she begins experiencing strange dreams about a life she cannot remember.
And when Zamarah finally unlocks it, she must answer the question that humanity has avoided for centuries:
"If remembering the truth could destroy the world, would you still choose to remember?"
