When Mariah Sato was six months old, she was adopted by a Japanese couple and brought across the world to a quiet neighborhood in Osaka. Growing up, she often felt caught between different pieces of herself. Sometimes being too foreign for some people, or "acting" too Japanese for others.
Living next door to her all her life is Morihito Nakamura, a quiet boy with messy dark hair, and an endless supply of patience. From snowing snowballs at each other during winter, and sharing convenience-store snacks after school, the two became practically inseparable growing up. Until all the rumors surrounding Morihito during high school started piling up.
As years passed, the two grew apart. Or rather, a wedge between the two had appeared.
Now, realizing they're at the same college together, Mariah can absolutely not keep it chill. Does Morihito get under her skin? Is there an explanation for why they stopped being friends?
Who knows.
