"I plaster a smile but soon it will shatter, as if all this shit going on didn't matter. The cuts dig deep and my skin will scream, I live in this nightmare that I wish was a dream." To the outside world, He's the smart kid-strong, reliable, and maybe a little immature. He plays the part perfectly, wearing a plastic smile designed to keep everyone at a safe distance. But behind the closed doors in a suffocating home, the mask slips. Trapped in a cage of toxic expectations, family trauma, and an overwhelming internal static, He is running out of reasons to keep breathing. When a quiet longing for the girl in his class forces him to question his own isolation, he has to decide what hurts more: keeping the disguise on, or letting someone see the scars underneath. A raw, unfiltered free-verse poetry and prose collection detailing the anatomy of depression, the exhaustion of hiding, and the messy, unglamorous fight to survive your own mind. ⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: This collection contains raw and explicit depictions of severe depression, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. Please read with care and prioritize your mental well-being. 📢 DAILY UPDATES. New poem/chapter dropped every single day.
