"The meteors were never the problem." The world went silent the night he arrived. No one knew where the child inside the crater came from. But as he grew older, strange things began happening around him-voices in the dark, objects floating without touch, storms responding to emotions he couldn't control. His parents spent years hiding him from the world. Because some secrets aren't meant to be found. And some children were never meant to exist.

"Aur sirf roti banana hi kaafi nahi hota, Janvi," she said, turning the tawa. Janvi looked up. "Toh aur kya-kya hota hai maa?" Her mother sighed, not tired-just seasoned. "Sab kaam seekhne padte hain. Kapde dhona, bartaan manjhna, subah sabse pehle uthna..." She continued, as if listing everyday items from memory. "Saree pehnna dhang se, pallu sambhalna, ghunghat mein chalna..." Janvi wrinkled her nose. "Ghunghat mein? Maa, dikhega bhi kuch ya bas andhere mein hi chalna padega? Nah baba nah, hum gir gaye toh...Hum nahi daalenge ghunghat vunghat." Her mother smiled briefly but didn't stop. "Aur baat-baat par zubaan sambhalni hoti hai. Bade-buzurgon se izzat se baat, aur..." she paused for half a second, then added, "Pati jo kahe, usse bhi tameez aur adab se sunna hota." Janvi's hands stilled again. "Har baat?" "Har baat," her mother replied quietly. The silence stretched, broken only by the hiss of a roti puffing up. Janvi looked down at the dough stuck to her fingers, then muttered, half-joking, half-serious, "Maa, yeh sasural hai ya gulaami?" Her mother let out a soft, knowing laugh. "Dono samajh le," she said. She handed Janvi a finished roti. "Isliye kehti hoon-yahan seekh le. Baad mein wahan koi sikhata nahi, bas umeed karta hai..aur umeedo pe nahi khade utarne pe sirf taane."

He never wanted the Chief Minister's seat. But when his father demanded it, he laid down one condition that he would marry only the daughter of their political enemy. "𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐝𝐚, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲." Everyone thought it was a move to end decades of rivalry. Only he knew the truth-it was her. It had always been her. The next morning, a marriage proposal reached her doorstep. The engagement happened. The silence between them turned into something softer. Something that looked a lot like love. "𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐣𝐢, 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐚𝐤𝐡𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐛𝐚𝐚𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢 𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐚, 𝐭𝐨𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐚𝐠 𝐤𝐲𝐮𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐭𝐡𝐢?" But peace doesn't last in politics. One decision-and her father cancelled the wedding. Only for Aakrosh to marry her anyway. And just when she tried to believe him again-she heard something she was never meant to. "𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐚𝐝𝐢 𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐟 𝐚𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐟 𝐚𝐩𝐧𝐢 𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐲𝐞 𝐤𝐢 𝐡𝐚𝐢, 𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐡𝐢 𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐲𝐢 𝐮𝐧𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐨 𝐤𝐢 𝐦𝐮𝐣𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐤𝐢." Was her worst fear true all along? Or is Aakrosh hiding more than just a ruthless plan? Author's note: Everyone says that 'my English is not so good' but I would like to say my Hindi is not so good, so forgive me for spelling or meaning mistakes.

She is the country's most fearless CBI officer. She is cold, disciplined, brilliant... and proudly misandrist. She is absolutely convinced that trusting a man is the biggest mistake a woman can make. He's the nation's most adored and dangerous politician, wrapped in charm, buried in power, and hiding secrets deep enough to drown a country. She's been assigned one mission to bring him down, expose him and break him. She will cross lines, and set the whole world on fire if that is what it takes to prove what he truly is. But the deeper she walks into his world, the more twisted the truth becomes, and it will not be clear for a very long time who is actually controlling the game or who the real mastermind is. But every moment they stand against each other feels unbearably close to burning together. She is built to uphold the law and he was born to defy it. If either of them slips, it will not be love. It will be the most beautiful kind of destruction... and neither of them will escape untouched. |Book 2 of Brutally Yours | Can be read as stand alone|
