Three years of my life didn't just disappear. They were ripped out of my mind.
I woke up to a man holding my hand, whispering how much he loved me. Lev. Everyone says he's a saint. That I'm lucky that a perfect guy stuck by me-through the worst shit. Shit they won't tell me about.
The doctors promised a full recovery. It won't happen. And deep down, I know it isn't because of the amnesia.
Because why does my pulse speed up when Lev's around-attraction? Or terror?
Everyone says the same thing: I'm too fragile to know. That it would hurt me.
All they tell me is, I lost three years through a car accident. But it all sounds too smooth. Too rehearsed.
And the only piece missing? My story.
But remembering might just be worse than forgetting.
Because what do you do when your mind might be your worst enemy and best weapon?
So I stay silent. Lev? He's dangerous. Addicting. And I think maybe, he might not be the villain here.
Lev built me a new, different life-one the old me liked-and called it a home.
And I took it.
And then the real me-the me before him-faded into the darkness.
Because that's what happens to girls like me. We stay quiet. We obey.
And then we disappear.
