Basically this is 1 year after 5×22 of The Rookie, Tim is still Sergeant of Metro LAPD but Lucy is Detective Chen. She passed her Detective Exam within the top 10. Anyway, she has been undercover for a few months. They both miss each other and wish for her to come home. When a mishap on patrol brings them back together...

Even after ten years he was constantly scowling and earned the nickname grumpy cop when he joined the LAPD.
