January 2024. As the European leg of the tour for Being Funny in a Foreign Language is about to begin, Matty meets Ciara, a 23-year-old Film Studies student from London. They meet one random night in a random club, and their encounter could remain just a drunk conversation between strangers - until they're photographed together. When everyone declares them the new couple of the moment, why not pretend to be it? Ciara gets the exposure she needs for her projects, while Matty escapes the scrutiny about his relationship with Taylor Swift. Fake dating seems like the perfect solution.
