I don't know where it started. When I woke up, I was in someone else's body. Someone I had tormented for years. .This story may contain themes or content that could be distressing or unsuitable for some readers. Author's Note: I decided to write this story to portray the emotions of someone who has been a victim of bullying and to show the lasting effects that prolonged bullying can have on a person's mental and emotional well-being. My purpose in writing this story is simply to highlight the power of words-the impact that insults, hurtful comments, and even seemingly harmless jokes can have on another human being. I wrote this story for those who bully others or see mocking and making hurtful remarks as entertainment. I hope it helps them understand how a victim may begin to see themselves and their life through the pain they endure, and how the consequences of bullying can be deep, lasting, and heartbreaking.

"You're my favorite person." I whispered softly as I held his hand. "Shut up. I'm a mess, and you know that." He hissed in defense. "Of course I do - and you know what? And love unravels in the most provoking ways imaginable. 17-years-old Sylvia Winston is frustrated with life in Manchester. And of using her powers for a greater purpose. And then there's Elliott Erwin. And it just happens to be that his newly assigned nurse is no other than Sylvia - who absolutely despises his brooding, closed-off nature. She had a father. She just never had him. 🔥🔥🔥 My name is Amara Okafor. But my father calls me "that girl from Lagos." 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 For sixteen years I managed. Managed without birthday calls. Managed without PTA meetings. Managed the silence of a man who lives... but acts like he's dead. Then at 12:01 a.m., my phone vibrated. *Unknown Number:* "Hi. Sorry for bothering you this late. Can I ask you something weird?" Weird became war. Because the girl on the other side has my father's nose. My father's smile. My father's last name. She's his American princess. I'm his Lagos mistake. *BLACK AND WHITE* is the story of two daughters. One name. Two worlds. One war for a father's love. Lagos struggles. Diaspora privilege. Colorism that cuts deeper than skin. Told in Amara's raw voice. If you've ever asked "Why wasn't I enough?"... Amara is asking it with you. *_Vote ⭐ if her pain feels like yours. Comment 💬 if you're Team Amara 🇳🇬 or Team Aurora 🇺🇸.
