Zelda is entering her senior year of high school and is preparing to move on to her college life. She does love school, and she hates when people distract her from her school work. Her high school, Hyrule High, is the only high school throughout Hyrule, so every teen across Hyrule goes there. In her free time, she likes to read and spend time with her best friends, Impa and Purah. She doesn't have that many friends, but who knows, maybe she'll find some new ones, and maybe someone who's more than a friend. ;) But enough explaining, Let's Dive Into The Story!! While Zelda's ambitions send her higher, Link has been searching for a way down. His smile is perfect, his lyrics are better. The magazines love him and so do the charts and every time someone finds his albums in the stores, his pockets grow heavier. His name is adored everywhere and what could ever be better than that?

It's the summer of 1969 and Zelda is finishing her last year of high school while living comfortably in southern California. She seems to have everything a young woman could ask for: a nice house, perfect grades, a best friend. She doesn't understand how valuable her precious comforts are until she meets a boy struggling to keep his head above the water.

In a world ravaged by the deadly cordyceps infection that turns people into monsters, Zelda has been living in a quarantine zone since the outbreak five years ago. She keeps to herself in the hopes of staying out of danger. Her somewhat safe life is flipped upside down when a man named Link is hired to escort her across the desolate country to take her to someone she'd given up on. But life outside the zone and the people left are much worse than she thought, including the one closest to her.

Zelda has her future written down to the last detail-but not by her. As the daughter of a powerful political figure, she's expected to be perfect: perfect grades, perfect image, a perfect path into the life her father has already chosen. But the only place she feels like herself is in her mother's quiet bakery or working in her world of biology. Link feels the weight of a future that could fall apart at any moment. As the school's star football player, everything is riding on him: scholarships, scouts, expectations he can't afford to disappoint. One mistake could cost him everything. And failure isn't just a fear, it's something he's known before. There was a time when things were different. Before someone important was just...gone. So, he keeps his head down, says little, and never lets anyone close enough to see the cracks. He doesn't talk about his past. He doesn't let himself want things he might lose. They never expected their similar worlds to meet. Link transfers to Hyrule High and starts showing up at the bakery, and Zelda slowly begins to see the true person behind the reputation. And Link, despite himself, starts growing closer to her, despite every instinct telling him not to. What starts as something small turns into something neither of them can ignore. But the pressure only builds. Expectations tighten. And the closer they get, the more everything else begins to slip. Because Zelda is being pulled toward a future she doesn't want, and Link is terrified that if he lets himself love her, he'll lose her too.
