"I grew up thinkin' home was something you build with wood and nails. But turns out, it's just you. It's you, in this kitchen, making muffins and soup and making me fall in love a little harder every damn day. All I know. Is you." 29 march 2025

Based on the fact that both Riki and Heeseung see Heeseung as the dad and Jake as the mom of ENHYPEN... I had a pulmonary embolism when i found out. Did this also stem from my kink of 'token straight' being feminized??? Yes... It did. I don't really like inaccurate characterizations here, Heeseung is a little strict, and that's because i've observed he doesn't hesitate to stop Riki from saying/doing anything risky during v-lives and broadcasts, while Jake mostly indulges in whatever Riki does and says A quick warning while we're at it! I'm all for feminism and modern roles for women, but for the sake of this fic I reduced the motherly role (and, by extension, girls) into the standard women stereotype. It's not too bad but if you're easily offended by it then don't read this ;) NOT PROOFREAD PLEASE FORGIVE ME IN ADVANCE

Everyone thinks Sunghoon is mute. He isn't. After years of trauma and abuse, speaking feels impossible, so he spends his days alone on the same lunch bench, hidden behind headphones and silence. Then Jake sits beside him. At first, it's nothing. A shared bench. A few snacks. An umbrella left behind. Small gestures that slowly become a friendship neither of them can explain. While the rest of the world asks Sunghoon to be different, Jake never does. He learns sign language just to understand him. He waits through the silence. He stays through the panic attacks, the nightmares, and the bad days. And somehow, without realizing it, Sunghoon begins to heal. What starts as a quiet friendship grows into something deeper-a love story built on trust, patience, stolen hoodies, accidental confessions, imaginary seven-child family plans, and countless moments that change both of their lives forever. A story about healing after trauma, finding your voice, and discovering that sometimes the person who saves you isn't the one who fixes you- They're the one who simply sits beside you and never leaves. This is a heartwarming romance about two boys who learn that love isn't always loud. Sometimes, it's found in the silence.

Jake Sim thought Lee Heeseung forgot about him a long time ago. Back in primary school, they were inseparable - two awkward kids sharing strawberry milk, surviving thunderstorms together, and spending every day side by side. But as Heeseung grew older, taller, and impossibly popular, Jake slowly convinced himself there was no place left for him in Heeseung's life. So he pulled away first. By middle school, they barely spoke. By high school, they were strangers. Now years later, Jake's peaceful university life is ruined when he discovers his new roommate is none other than Lee Heeseung: campus basketball captain, certified menace, and apparently still hopelessly in love with him. Because while Jake spent years trying to forget him, Heeseung spent years looking for him in crowded hallways, joining science fairs for him, remembering every tiny thing about him - and waiting. What follows is a chaotic, slow-burn reunion full of unresolved feelings, embarrassing confessions, dramatic flirting, stolen kisses, emotional basketball games, and one very persistent basketball captain determined to love Jake loudly enough for both of them. Or: Two idiots spend years thinking the other stopped caring when really they were just hopelessly in love the entire time.

Lee Heeseung just wanted a quiet bus ride. Unfortunately, Jake also takes the bus. Every morning, Jake arrives three seconds before death, argues that cereal is soup, befriends pigeons, loses at least one important item, and somehow ends up asleep on Heeseung's shoulder. Every morning, Heeseung pretends to read the same page of the same novel while internally planning a wedding, twenty-eight hypothetical children, and whether their future goldfish should have health insurance. One loud public-school boy. One elegant private-school heir. A story about expensive blazers, ruined shoulders, random kisses, emotional catastrophes disguised as good manners... ...and the world's most suspiciously romantic bus route.
