In the not too distant future civilization has collapsed and the worlds ecosystems have gone haywire. Alongside all this a virus known as the muta-virus has created a new kind of humans the fae with animalistic features, but able to survive the radiation and harsh terrain of this new world. This is the second draft of this book but certainly not the last. I know that there will be grammar errors and continuity errors but hopefully not to many. Please comment and feel free to leave suggestions, corrections or predictions I welcome them as they will help me write a better third draft and hopefully a best final book eventually. All parts of this draft have now been published. From here I will be working on my other book projects and codifying the worldbuilding for this book on World Anvil which I will link when it is ready in preparation for working on the third draft. ~Felinus Quill~ Cover by: Angelinascanvas (Instagram)

A Collection of short horror stories based on folklore, myths, and campfire stories. This volume of modern myths contains the stories Winter's Bite: Strange things have been happening in the Fox Valley. People disappearing only for mangled corpses to be found blood staining the snow. Coyotemen of Cortez: It was just a road trip before they started college but a freak accident leaves them stranded in a strange town called Cortez. The Concrete Labyrinth: A competitive internship for the Minos Company leaves Theodore in a strange situation locked in building of winding halls with thirteen other interns. The Wailing Spirit: A harbinger brings a deadly warning for Lucas and his new wife Tanya. Now Lucas must do everything in his power to protect her, but the question is will he succeed? The Fox's Possession: Akane's brother Daisuke was only supposed to be gone a week while he visited their ancestral home, since no one would tell him why they had left for the USA in the first place. Now Akane has followed him trying to find her missing brother, but maybe some family secrets were meant to stay buried. If you enjoyed Scary stories to tell in the dark or folklore and myths in general you will probably like this collection horror stories that are meant to be a quick read. This is the main copy of Modern Myths Vol.1 which will be continually updated to the most recent draft. The cover does not belong to me and is a stand in until the final cover is complete. ~Felinus Quill~

Amon-Raeth. The Golden Sovereign. The god of the Sun, Desert, and Inferno. Now, he is the price of his own greed. Stripped of his light and his golden throne by the Council of Firmament, he is exiled to the very sands he once scorched with indifference. Adorning pale skin and human hunger, Raeth must navigate a world that has forgotten his face but still bears the scars of his reign. He is a man haunted by a "redemption" he does not understand, forced into a journey through shifting dunes, treacherous silks, and buried temples. Finding unlikely allies in those he once looked down upon and discovering that desperation is a knife. As the lines between his divine past and his fragile present begin to blur, Amon-Raeth must decide if he is truly seeking a way back to his throne, or if the light he finds in the dust is more precious than the fire he left in the clouds.

Hailey Aurora had been spiraling for years - fighting, clawing, surviving the rot of an abusive home ever since her mother died. But survival has a cost, and hers came due in the form of a debt she could never repay. The night she almost killed her uncle was the moment everything twisted beyond repair. A single mistake. A single fracture in the fragile line she'd been walking. And then. Him. He said only one word. "Amore." After that, nothing was fine. Nothing would ever be again. Yet something shifts. He doesn't cage her. He watches, yes, but from a distance that lets her breathe. He lets her stumble, lets her fight her own battles, as if he trusts her strength more than she ever has. And sometimes, when he forgets himself, there is a quiet softness in him. A fleeting honesty that feels almost fragile. It unsettles her more than the fear ever did, Because somewhere in that silence, in those small, unguarded moments... She begins to feel again. ONC Prompt #78: "You begin to realize that nothing is quite what it seems." Also inspired by: #80 - "Monsters don't live under our beds. They live in the recesses of our minds." ✨Twilight✨

✨Trust me, don't judge this story by its first few chapters. The dark romance starts slowly, but once it kicks in, it's insanely addictive. If you leave before that... well, that's your loss. 😉 𝕸𝖆𝖋𝖎𝖆 𝐊𝖎𝖓𝖌 × 𝕸𝖆𝖋𝖎𝖆 𝐏𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖘𝖘 𝐒𝖔𝖚𝖙𝖍 𝕴𝖓𝖉𝖎𝖆'𝖘 𝐊𝖎𝖓𝖌 × 𝕮𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖔𝖓𝖊𝖗 𝕸𝖆𝖋𝖎𝖆 × 𝕯𝖔𝖈𝖙𝖔𝖗 𝐒𝖊𝖓𝖎𝖔𝖗 × 𝕵𝖚𝖓𝖎𝖔𝖗 𝕮𝕰𝐎 × 𝐒𝖊𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖗𝐲 𝕯𝖔𝖒𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖓𝖙 × 𝕮𝖍𝖎𝖑𝖉𝖎𝖘𝖍 𝕯𝖆𝖗𝐤 𝐎𝖇𝖘𝖊𝖘𝖘𝖎𝖔𝖓 × 𝐒𝖔𝖋𝖙 𝕷𝖔𝖛𝖊 𝐒𝖎𝖑𝖊𝖓𝖙 𝐒𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒 × 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖈 𝐒𝖚𝖓𝖘𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖊 𝕽𝖚𝖑𝖊 𝕸𝖆𝐤𝖊𝖗 × 𝕽𝖚𝖑𝖊 𝕭𝖗𝖊𝖆𝐤𝖊𝖗 𝐒𝖎𝖓 × 𝐒𝖆𝖑𝖛𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓 "𝐘𝖔𝖚'𝖗𝖊 𝕸𝖎𝖓𝖊" × "𝕮𝖆𝖙𝖈𝖍 𝕸𝖊 𝕱𝖎𝖗𝖘𝖙" 𝕽𝖆𝖏𝖆𝖘𝖆𝖆𝖇 × 𝕷𝖎𝖙𝖙𝖑𝖊 𝕯𝖔𝖊 ────୨ৎ──── ✨ This isn't just a story... it's a storm. Two souls bound by fate-one consumed by obsession, the other by selfless love. Torn apart again and again, yet drawn back through fire and blood, carving their names into a history that refuses to fade. This isn't a tale you simply read... it lingers-in your veins, your memories, your quietest moments. ✨ ✧༝┉𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 ┉༝✧ My eyes snapped open. Pain. Blur. Then-wooden walls. A cabin.I was tied. Rope burned my wrists. Panic rose. And him. Nihal. Watching. Waiting. "Let me go!!!" "No." I fought harder. "LET ME GO!!!" A sigh. The ropes loosened. The door opened-light crashed in. Not land. Sky. A helicopter. Wind roaring. "Go." I stepped forward-freedom or death- His fingers gripped my arm. He pulled me back, my body colliding with his, his arm lockin

Cairus Music was the only thing that ever listened back. Every note I played held control, precision-something my life never gave me after my parents were taken in a mafia raid. I built myself from silence into perfection, a name people respected, a sound they couldn't forget. But at this university, something feels wrong. Eyes linger too long. Footsteps echo when no one's there. The past I buried is breathing down my neck. And then there's Vance. Loud where I'm quiet. Reckless where I'm controlled. Dangerous in ways I can't read. He watches me like he already knows something I don't. Like I'm part of a rhythm I never chose. I don't trust him. But somehow, I can't ignore him either. Vance I don't fail. I just don't care-about classes, rules, or anything this place pretends matters. But I need Adrian to pass, so I play along. Show up. Pretend. Then I hear him. Caius. Every note he plays feels too perfect, too controlled-like he's hiding something under all that precision. And I know secrets when I see them. I've lived in them. He thinks he's untouchable. Untamed. He's wrong. Because I see the cracks-the way he looks over his shoulder, the tension in his hands. Someone's already hunting him. And the worst part? I don't know if I want to protect him... or be the one who breaks him.

Oren Hale discovers a memorial page for a boy who died four years ago and cannot explain why the photo looks exactly like him. After that, ordinary life starts to feel staged, like he is walking through a story someone else wrote. His tutor, Ayara, is smart, guarded, and dangerously easy to talk to. Their sessions shift into something riskier: honesty, which only makes the rest of the world feel stranger by comparison. As Oren tries to understand where the dead boy ends and he begins, the people closest to him keep steering him away from the truth. But the more he looks, the clearer it becomes: one of these lives is real, and the other is a mistake. He just doesn't know which one. Teresia knows sleeping with the pastor's son is a terrible idea. After her mother marries an assistant pastor and moves them onto the grounds of The Well Fellowship, eighteen-year-old Teresia Elkund quickly learns never to give anyone a reason to talk. Then she meets Charles Connors. He's the pastor's son: beautiful, experienced, watched by everyone, and far too used to getting away with things. His mother wants him with a nice church girl. He wants Teresia alone without anyone noticing. He is the first boy to touch her and the first person to make her feel fully alive in her own body. Then Teresia learns about Jeannette Reyes. Jeannette used to date Charles, and neither of them seems completely finished with the other. She is also the girl behind The First Draft, a secret writing group that meets off-campus and reads the kind of stories Teresia would never dare leave open on her desk at home. Teresia wants in. She wants to write something good enough to make them stop seeing her as the quiet church girl with nothing to confess. The church wants Teresia pure. The writing group wants her honest. Charles wants her in secret. Teresia wants too much of it all to walk away. Set in 1984, Teresia is a dark coming-of-age romance about desire, rivalry, shame, obsession, and the cost of wanting freedom more than forgiveness. ❤️ REVIEWS ❤️ Your story still pops into my head. Imagine forgetting what "home" is supposed to feel like. Not all at once- but slowly... piece by piece. Until the word itself starts sounding unfamiliar. It's been twelve years since the world broke. Twelve years of moving through places that no longer belong to the living, surviving just enough to see another morning, and pretending that the past doesn't matter anymore. They don't talk about it. Not about where they came from. Not about who they used to be. Some things are easier to carry when they stay buried. But the strange thing about buried things is- they don't always stay that way. Sometimes it's a place. Sometimes a memory. Sometimes just a colour you can't look at the same way anymore. And suddenly, something starts to feel... wrong. Familiar. But wrong. In a world where letting go is the only way to survive- what happens when something inside you refuses to? And when it finally catches up to you... will you still recognize what you were trying to find?
