He can't put his foot down and ends up letting everyone walk all over him to the point that he's exhausted and miserable. The problem is they don't know how to handle the trauma that made them that way. They don't know how to fix what happened to them. They're coping in the best ways they can, but it isn't enough anymore. If either of them want a chance at a good future, they need to change. Their mothers are hoping a little summer getaway will help with that.
