Stuck on a desolate Earth, a strange android wanders into a commune full of people struggling to survive. Among them is a young girl named Mara. As Vera works to help the commune, she and Mara become as close as an android and a person can become. Androids don't contain the aptitude for emotions like mankind-that is, until a strange alien signal reaches them. The problem is, it's encoded, and Vera is the only one who is capable of decoding it.
