Hayley and Katelyn Marshall have stuck together their entire lives. After the death of their parents (Hayley was 1, Katelyn was just born) they were raised in a human household. When Hayley triggered her werewolf curse she was kicked out of their home. Katelyn, being a loyal sister triggered her curse and left with Hayley. From then on the two sisters did everything to protect and be there for each other. After Hayley returned from her visit to Mystic Falls, Virginia, the two sisters decided to take a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana to discover more about their family. While in New Orleans the sisters were lured out and kidnapped by a coven of witches. The witches performed a spell to confirm Hayley was pregnant, and the father was Klaus Mikaelson. Klaus was the cruel and selfish original hybrid whom the witches needed to take down Marcel Gerard. So, the witches held Hayley and Katelyn hostage until Klaus agreed to help them. In the process of helping the witches and Hayley, Katelyn and Klaus felt a strange pull to each other. Everything about these feelings was wrong, they tried to restrain themselves, but it was difficult.
