Katara welcomed the warm feeling of the Fire Nation breeze as she sailed in on the Fire Lord's very own ship. Passing the Great Gates of Azulon flickers of seawater sprinkled against her chestnut cheek. Standing on the deck, she felt great ease of freedom, no Hakoda hanging over her. My arm still wrapped around her neck as I squeezed tightly. My body released my seed deep inside her. Softening up my grip I heard Katara's panting body as mine did the same. "Just admit you stole it... and I could stop tomorrow," I whispered in her ear. "Just do it," I asked almost threatening to form tears myself. This is not what I wanted. I didn't wish for her to be humiliated in front of my court. ************************************** After Katara is separated from her brother, she finds herself wandering alone in the unforgiving adult world, and soon to the Fire Nation Capital. After consistently finding trouble she is held captive, cut off from any news circulating in the world, before she is sold off to another unfortunate future the spirits could only tell you about. Shortly after Katara finds herself being presented to the new Fire Lord, Fire Lord Zuko. Tempted by the simple sight of her, Zuko cannot decide if he should let her go or keep her locked away forever. Our story takes place from the "Crossroads of Destiny" episode. While you may notice some key/similar parts, moving forward from this point in the show everything has been set on a new path.

Aang's reluctance to take Ozai's life has lasting consequences for the friends he leaves behind. Lovers, Zuko and Katara must flee the capital and make their way back to Ba SIng Se and their friends. With the future of the world hanging in the balance, the gaang must regroup to survive and Zuko must decide what he's willing to sacrifice to protect the new Avatar.

What happens when Zuko's eighteenth birthday comes around, and the Gaang frantically compiles a birthday celebration? Probably disaster. POV Katara Crazyness, awkwardness, and a little bit of romance make up this short story. Enjoy! If you have any questions, just ask. It has been 10 years since the end of The Hundred Year War, ten years since Aang left her. Katara now finds herself in an unlikely pair with a melancholy Fire Lord while navigating life in Republic City. Excerpt: "Zuko stop!" she begged. He did not, he continued to nudge and press for an answer. Katara began to feel like the floor was slipping from under her. The room was no longer still and she was growing increasingly dizzy. She grabbed on to a column to steady herself. Zuko rushed to her side, bracing her against his warm body. Their eyes met briefly and Zuko found the answer he had been searching for.

Three years after the war Zuko is living a life of duty while Katara reluctantly travels the world with Aang. When General Iroh orders them to find Zuko's mother and save the Order of the White Lotus they seize the opportunity with both hands. Then he begins to spend time with her and realizes maybe he wants something to come out of it. Now he needs to keep the dare a secret.
