(Originally known as The Flight of the Ocean) Haven has grown up her whole life being told she was not good enough by nearly every one but her childhood friends. In spite of what every one says she is training to serve the noble kingdom of Skye, in the form of military combat. Haven's life seems good, her dreams are coming true and the love of her life is starting to fall for her. Soon her love's research takes himself and Haven down to the waters edge. Nothing will be the same. Araxie is used to being in the dark and constantly in fear, in fact it drives her every move. Fear is the only thing keeping the mermaid population alive, fear of the surface and fear of being killed in the waters. One day during an attack on a human ship that sailed too far into their property, a small action sends her world crumbling down and herself soaring upward.
