The glee kids first noticed she was not herself when she was quiet in the last month before summer vacation. Then there was the fact she didn't contact ANYONE during summer vacation and updated her Instagram profile with pictures of the beach and museums. Then the worst happened (to them anyway): Rachel Berry came back to school with her new boyfriend, Jesse St. James, with his arm around her small shoulders. Jesse seemed to be very protective of Rachel and Rachel seemed to flinch if any of the glee kids tried to touch her. Then, there was the songs she sang. First she started singing Pink, then Kesha, then Katy Perry, and now she sang Avril Lavigne. All had swears, talked about one of the glee kids, or made her plain bad-ass. Was Rachel Berry gone and if so...did Jesse St. James have anything to do with it?

Since Kurt transferred to Dalton Academy, Rachel's life has been miserable. She misses her friend, the only one who understood how she felt when bullies called her names or threw slushies in her face. Being at McKinley has become torturous, and Rachel can't take it anymore. She makes a decision that will change everything for her and for the rest of the New Directions: she is transferring to a different school. With Regionals right around the corner, what are the New Directions going to do without their star performer? This is set mid-season 2, somewhere between "A Very Glee Christmas" and "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle". I've changed a few details from the show (like the New Directions' competition at Regionals, for example) for plot's sake. This is probably going to be pretty long, so the chapters are going to be longer than in the other stories. Enjoy!
