I wrote this story because I have had a HUUUGE crush on the Songs of War character Ingressus Voltaris (whom I affectionately call Ingy), and I didn't know how to actually say I had a crush on him-so I'm expressing that through writing! ********* After Lena (pronounced LAY-nuh) Perez, a human, loses her brother Chris to a Voltaris skirmish, Ingressus gets reminded of how he lost Achillean to his own desire for the Prime Songs, causing him to step in and protect Lena. He takes the fragile human home with him, and that forced proximity melts into mutual respect for another, making them friends-until Ingressus realizes that what he feels for Lena is more than merely friendship.
