She was an addict. Because she was addicted. Not to drugs fortunately, not to Nutella and not to Twitter like any so-called “normal” teenager. She was addicted to ice cubes. I c e C u b e s She’d munch and chew on those blocks of frozenness mindlessly D a y in, day out. Night in, niI g ht out. Why you ask? Because they numbed the pain, stopped the heartache and blocked the worries. Even if it was just for a split second. It felt like heaven. And, that’s what she craved. Feelings of remorse and guilt are natural reflections of sinning. Islam fully understands the temptations that come in the way of everyone of us, and that which some of us might go for. Only through repentance, that one can wipe out those sins and past misdeeds and gradually get freed from the clutches of the ego. Regretting deeply and truly for the sin you committed is actually a step to true repentance. "Do not despair of Allah's mercy; He will forgive you of all your sins".Qur'an (39:53). This is a poem about a Muslim Teenage Boy regretting his actions deeply. leading him on to repentance.. Even though we can see, and Allah has blessed us with the gift of eye-sight, yet we are still blind to the truth. However, those who are blind may see the truth and guidance better than us. This is a true story, deep and heart-touching of a father and son. A son, who even though was blind, guided his father to salvation.
