Moving out was supposed to be the beginning of Y/N's independence.
After years of living with her father, she finally gets the chance to have a place of her own. She's worked hard, saved money, and is more than ready to start this new chapter of her life.
There's just one small problem.
Her father's best friend, Pete Castiglione, has decided to cover her part of rent-and, as if that wasn't complicated enough, she soon discovers that the man she hasn't seen since her eighteenth birthday is also her new neighbor.
Their first interaction? A desperate phone call to the "maintenance" number her useless landlord gave her.
Only it isn't maintenance.
It's Pete.
What starts with a broken water supply and an unexpected visit slowly turns into something neither of them anticipated. With an age gap, a complicated history, many secrets that are bound to come out and the fact that Pete is supposed to be nothing more than her father's best friend, getting too close might be the one thing they should never do.
But some boundaries become harder to keep once you're living right next door.
