At just twenty years old, Tadala is forced to grow up fast.
After the sudden loss of her parents, she leaves her life behind in Reading and moves to Hackney with her younger brother, Kobe. The two of them are taken in by their older brothers, Malvin and Daniel-who do everything they can to protect them, even if it means staying deep in a life tied to the streets.
Hackney isn't home. It's survival.
Trying to cope with grief and change, Tadala drifts into the wrong crowd at first-people who promise distraction but pull her closer to a life she was never meant to be part of. Meanwhile, Kobe starts at a new school, quickly forming a bond with Stefan and Ats-a friendship that unknowingly ties their worlds to something much bigger.
Because Stefan isn't just anyone-he's the younger brother of Jamie.
Through Kobe, Stefan, and Ats, Tadala and Jamie's paths finally cross. At first, it's nothing more than curiosity-Jamie watching from a distance, trying to figure out who she is and why she feels so different from everyone else around her. But the more he learns, the harder it becomes to ignore her.
And for Tadala, Jamie is nothing like the people she first fell in with. He's focused, controlled, and dangerous in a way she doesn't fully understand-but impossible to stay away from.
As tensions rise across Hackney, with names like Dushane and Sully casting long shadows over the streets, and with Jamie's own brothers, Aaron and Stefan, depending on him, the stakes grow higher than ever.
Caught between grief, loyalty, and love, Tadala must find her place in a world that was never built for her. But in Hackney, every choice has consequences-and falling in love might be the most dangerous one of all.
