"Please, I need your help. For the sake of the Kingdom, meet below the eastern watchtower of Castle Iscarion on the stroke of midnight three days from now. Come alone." On the night of the Summer Solstice, three of these notes are delivered to three very different parts of the kingdom of Cardelle. The first to a little house in an isolated village, in the far-out reaches of the Kingdom, the second to the murky slums surrounding Castle Iscarion, where order and decency are simply nonexistent, and the third to the Castle itself, finding its way to the Royal Chambers. But everything is never as it first appears, with danger and trickery always looming overhead. This story is being written by three different people, so that is why there might be long spaces between updates. We each have a character that we are writing for. So there will be a POV chapter for each character when it is that character's creator's turn. -Casting- Josephine-Gee Rilla-Rach Annabelle-Loz

-The first of two spinoff stories from the Alianna Winter Mysteries- Tobias (Toby!) Smart isn't exactly your average fourteen-year-old. To be honest, his seventeen-year-old brother Tarquin Smart, or Quinne as he prefers to be called, isn't exactly average either. Both boys, as well as an unfortunate inbred skill for baking, have more brains and a sharper wit (and in Tarquin's case, a sharper tongue) than most adults they've ever met (other than perhaps their mother). But when a young child from the village is found dead, having been smashed on the head with a mirror, Toby and Tarquin finally get to start putting their skills to good use.

** Wattpad Featured Story!** A young girl arouses the wrath of an ancient Scottish water spirit who takes her brother's soul in revenge. To save him Brigid must journey through the Shadow realm, begging help and proving herself to each of the totem animal spirits of Britain. Steeped in British mythology and animal lore, The Shadowkeeper is a modern fairy tale written with animation in mind but could also be live action/CGI - lots of CGI! Author's Note: Back in 2005, The Shadowkeeper came heartbreakingly close to being sold to major production companies thanks to good showing in the three screenwriting competitions I submitted to*. A whirlwind trip to Hollywood for an awards night followed by meetings with managers and production companies had my little heart singing (literally one night, at an Etta James concert at the Hollywood Bowl!) Then reality hit. All of the feedback I received was the same: We love it but there's no audience for adventure stories with a female protagonist, change Brigid to a boy and we'll negotiate. Call me stubborn (the two managers offering me representation did) but I didn't think that was a legitimate "note", I thought it was simple sexism and I refused. Since then, The Shadowkeeper has been in the proverbial drawer but I love Brigid, I think she's a badass little eight year old and I've never given up on her. It's now ten years later and the attitude to female protagonists appears to be changing so I'm thinking of submitting The Shadowkeeper again but first I thought I'd pop it up here and see what Wattpadders think. If you like it, I do hope you'll vote and/or comment to let me know whether you'd like to see it on the screen! Happy reading! Darcy. *Competition Results: Finalist, ScriptP.I.M.P. When her friend is wrongly sacrificed to a sinister forest, a girl tricks a demon prince into helping her reveal a powerful priest's twisted nature and rid the land of a mysterious blight rotting the crops and turning the people of Belle Parish mad. --- Seventeen-year-old Eloise Marlow is supposed to be on her best behavior as the newest Debutante in Belle Parish, according to her mother. When she comes of age, she'll be married off to a boy from a wealthy estate, but only if she follows the rules and keeps her nose where it belongs. In a gossip-fueled southern parish where the rich pull the strings behind the overreaching church, it's nearly impossible for Eloise to mind her own business. After a night of juvenile mistakes, Eloise finds herself at the judgment of her closest friend. Caught with a boy while unbetrothed, her friend is banished into Dreadwood, a sinister forest where demons are whispered to rule. Father McRae, sentencer and head priest, preaches that sacrifices and ridding the parish of any impure keeps their crops bountiful and their health pristine. The parish eats up his words, but Eloise notices how the boy her friend was with goes unpunished, how they all seem to go unpunished while girls are tossed to the forest for their alleged witchery. Determined to reveal Father McRae's wicked ways, Eloise sets off on a perilous path filled with secrets, betrayal, and an evil so vast it could swallow her whole. But when she tricks a darkly charming demon prince into helping her, she doesn't know what is more dangerous to her anymore--him or Dreadwood.

"It took me five seconds to fall. The impact on my chest jarring my body but not my mind. I suppose this is the point where your life is supposed to flash before your eyes as time itself freezes - and it did in a way. But I didn't relive my life physically like walking through an old memory, déjà vu in each step. It was a feeling, something that started in my chest and spread to my fingertips, one so unique to me that it encapsulated each significant event into one single second." For as long as May can remember one mystery has haunted her world. A dirty window before her, the grim obstructing her vision, she has lived with a loss she can't identify - that is until one rainy night. Gradually the spots of dirt May scratched at for so long wipe away with the touch of a finger. But when she looks in will she like what she sees - or will curiosity kill the cat?
