Piper is the small, innocent, good girl of the school. Barely anyone knows her. From what her parents say, she was adopted. No big question there. But Piper doesn't have emotions. She knows what they are, but she can't feel them. She never could. When she was adopted she had a ring. No orphans had their own belongings, except maybe the clothes they wore to the orphanage. The caregiver at the adoption center told her parents never to take it off. But when its starts cracking, she realizes that she starts acting different. Something new... feeling.
