Gangle cried, burying her face in her hands and sinking to the ground, her back pressed against the bus stop's plastic wall. Pomni stood for a moment longer before she sank down next to Gangle. She didn't say anything more. She put her hand on Gangle's back and rubbed it slowly. Her gaze drifted to the overhanging plastic roof of the bus stop. The rain poured hard on it, cold and brutal. The snow outside the bus stop was packed firmly on the ground. Hardly anyone was outside in this weather. Pomni looked at her real human hand, covered in a glove. This couldn't be happening, right? Surely Caine was playing some sick, twisted game with them! This was an adventure, right? Pomni waited and waited for everything to return back to the vibrant circus colors she was used to. Nothing came. A chill ran through her, and she shifted closer to Gangle, who was still sniffling into her knees. "Hey," Pomni whispered. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get mad at you. I just got really stressed out and overwhelmed, and I brought it out on you." Gangle looked up, wiping her eyes with her hoodie sleeve. "It's okay," she managed a small smile. "I feel the same way."
