"do you remember gian?"
"no," she said, looking elsewhere but the boy pertained to. "why would i?"
"he's..." her mother sighed, thinking of some words that may not trigger her . but instantly thought to just be straightforward. "...going to be your husband..."

OR, during teenage years, eliana has never been difficult. she attained almost perfect grades, had a sane group of friends, never been in a relationship, and is just happy-go-lucky as she believes everything happens in her greatest favor.
now, she has a stable career of being a kindergarten teacher which she dreamed of the most. she adores children very much and teaching them is how she wants to give back to the community.
until she blew her birthday candle, celebrating her 25 years alive, there comes the most agonizing plot twist ever occurred to any woman's life which she never wished upon anyone else, even herself: marriage, an arranged one.
so maybe before her surname changes or gets hyphenated with someone else's or whatever, being rebellious is the most freeing thing to do after all.
just a bit of dancing with her own ghosts and crashing over her own grave, before one of the band vocalists of a top local band SLASH her soon-to-be husband pulled her out of the crowd and tucked her in the passenger's seat.
"now, what?" she scoffed in his face, not minding how her breath smelled like. how could she care if he's the one invading her personal space. "are you going to kiss me? i thought we're going to have our first kiss in front of the altar-"
that was the moment when eliana realized that the vocalist really has his ways with words, lyrics, music... or maybe, lips in general.
