A Prologue, by The Doctor In this book, you will find an adventure. But I have to admit, it isn't mine. Not anymore. It is my TARDIS, and my fault that that she got caught in all this, but the story is Irene's. When I met Irene, she was sharp witted and rather broken. She cut with her jagged edges, and her mouth had few filters. She reminded me of someone who travelled with me long ago, who turned into a textbook villain. So I watched Irene grow; but instead of growing into evil, she grew into good. The problem is, tumors grow at about the same speed. Cancer wanted her as much as the rest of the world did. Still, she held nothing back. She wrapped me in kindness, and I wrapped her in a cold and endless war. But she's a warrior. So here I sit, on a hospital chair, writing a prologue for a story that has already happened because a girl from small-town Arizona asked me to. Irene is asleep.
