Tears of pain escaped her single eye left. It hurt. It hurt so bad. One moment she was at an open field filled with ninja in similar Anbu gear and covering her bleeding eye socket. The next, she was in the arms of the man she called sensei, flying through trees in incredible speed. His face was horror stricken. He kept on opening and closing his mouth, not knowing what to say. He dodged kunai left and right while shielding the tiny body in his arms the best he could. "Why?" He finally asked in a broken whisper. Pain in his voice, his face but mostly his eyes. A bitter, painful smile spread on Sakura's young face. Her eight-year-old body trembling in pain. "He was going to kill you after taking your eyes. I couldn't let him do that. You're one of my special people. I promised myself I would protect you no matter what." His heart twisted in pain after hearing her reasoning, not knowing whether to be proud or angry at her for not abandoning her ninja way. "Sakura-chan... " He said with that same broken whisper and said girl, unable to keep her eyes open any longer, allowed the claws of darkness drag her into unconsciousness the same time her and her sensei's bodies were engulfed in a bright green Susanoo.

An Au wherein Sakura is placed in a team with Nara Shikamaru and Aburame Shino. There are those who fight with brawn. There are those who fight behind desks and command others. There are those who fight using their years of experience. There are those who fight with their instincts. There are those who fight with all their might with or without a plan. And there are those who fight with calculated steps and patterns. Here we have 3 fresh graduates that were appointed to a team that only came once every century: A combat team that can engage battle with a particular fighting style that most would consider weak: 'Smart'. A figure leaned comfortably on the ink, black rails, arms crossed over her chest. Her gaze sharply focused on a group of guys that were engaged in a physical fight. Her eyes glazed over with emptiness, a bitter smile morphed on her face. "You fools...." a faint scoff passed her lips, before she pushed herself off the rails, standing to her full height. She tucked her hands in her bottom tracksuit pockets before she made her way to the group. "You damn fools..." she spoke softly under her breath. She was a practical blur as she dealt hits that were damaging to all of the individuals. "You stupid idiots...." she rolled her neck, an arrogant smirk adored her face.
