A secret lake in Thailand cradles a kingdom of merpeople with the tails of betta fish. Chaiyo is the son of a local lord who's been caught in the middle of sociopolitical turmoil. A coup is trying to overthrow the current dynasty of invaders, while the crown prince takes a special liking to Chaiyo. Change brews in these waters. It's only a matter of time.
