The Academic Team at Summit Ridge Junior High is never acknowledged by the rest of the school population. Sometimes it bugs the members of the team. Like coming in first at the district competition wasn't enough to deserve a little attention? Every other sport gets an announcement every single time they win a game for crying out loud. At other times, however, it's quite the perfect disguise for what's actually happening in the school's hidden basement. On a completely unrelated note, who are the eight kids running around saving lives from the forces of evil?

Simon Grimare, technological prodigy and son of a deceased billionaire genius, has a problem. The malevolent agency who has hated his family for generations has turned their gaze to him. This organization, The Mordeux, seeks to destroy any who stand against them, starting with anyone with the last name "Grimare." They are the ones who killed his father and mother and left him an orphan, but their plans for him are a bit more.... Diabolical. He is pulled into a cross-dimensional scavenger hunt, his life threatened at every turn as he searches for artifacts to suit the Mordeux's devious plot. Along the way, he meets allies, teens from another universe with the ability to jump between dimensions and special powers based on the realities they hold dear. Together, they stand against the Mordeux and their sinister proponent, who dogs them everywhere they go. Eventually, through trials and tribulations, they free Simon from the grip of the Mordeux's deadly machination and engage the Mordeux in one final, furious battle. But, in the attempt to defeat their most dreadful foe, will one pay the ultimate price?
