Two kits are just born into DuskClan, Pearlkit and Emberkit. They each have their own destiny. Tension between SorrelClan and DuskClan are higher than ever.

Tucked away in a lush forest are the cats of MoonClan, a clan that has lived prosperously for generations. That is, until the bloody, mangled bodies of their clan mates begin to appear in the forest. Suddenly, the clan is thrown into disaster, and they must turn to a moons old prophecy that foretells of two cats who will save them from total destruction. Storm was only a young kit when the forest she lived in with her mother Moon, and her brother Stone, burned down. Moon and Stone both died in the fire. Alone, Storm followed a river through unfamiliar landscape. But while Storm is traveling she notices that she has a strange connection with the weather. When she meets a rogue he tells her that she seems to be traveling pretty fast compared to most alone travelers. After a few sunrises, Storm finds a lake where clans of cats live. Will Storm choose to join them or live the life of a rogue?

All seems peaceful at the lake since the great battle has been won, but only a couple moons later, trouble arises at the gorge where SkyClan lives. A flood has washed away a lot of the cats and they have nowhere to go. In the place of the gorge runs a fast-flowing river. Where do they go? The only place, to the lake where all of the other Clans live in peace. But SkyClan might not be welcomed as warmly as they thought they would be... Meanwhile, back at the ThunderClan camp, Shatteredkit is washed away in the river bordering RiverClan and ThunderClan. Every cat thinks that the murky depths of the river has claimed his life, but they might not be as right as they thought they were...
