There was no promise that Lucy would recall everything, but Natsu had to try, right ? Lucy would do anything for Natsu, he was her boyfriend after all, and she loved him ever so dearly. So when the time came for her to choose to make a sacrifice, she did it willingly, just to save Natsu. Waking up, Lucy has no idea who she is, and what happened.
