It is an annual occurrence in Kydrylese that one human, from the age of 13-20, be teleported there. Once on the island, the human is bound to an animal known as a spirit beast. These creatures represent the personalities and traits of their partner. not only this, but they can allow them to channel great power into their weapon. __________________ Under unusual circumstances, Clare is teleported here against her will and forced to adapt to a new life that is almost medival. Not only that, but there is now a great darkness that looms overhead. Oddly, Clare is more familiar with it than she ever thought before. The problem is, Clare isn't alone and the evil has yet to strike. How can she fight it while it lays awake, but inactive? Maybe, the plethora of challenges this land has brought can be here greatest weapon against the darkness and that which she can not see. __________________ Clare doesn't fear death, that is the easy part. What she does fear is the act of dying, letting darkness receive that sweet satisfaction. While she may not fear death, others do. Will they be willing to risk their lives for the greater good? As for me, I don't know, I don't even know whether the things happening are true. I don't want to believe them. So I will ignore them as much as I can. Holding myself together, so that I don't break. I will just pretend that I don't care . Even though I continuously asked without a single answer in sight.There was no way out and no one even cared to know if I was fine with it.I just had to pretend and continue pretending until the end. Leaving a normal world behind for a world filled with magic, bringing danger to my door. A place where powers exist but their users are hunted down like rabid dogs.A different reality where I could not die but everyone around me faded away at some point. A domain where I was supreme but had to still remain hidden. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and light all at my service but are they useful ? When I don't even know how to use them. I don't want to be a part of any of this I only want to protect the one person who stood beside me when I was left alone my only friend who left her everything for my sake. Greatness oft starts in unexpected places, as anyone who reads tales and hears the songs of bards know... or so they say. In the kingdom of Xeverron, nothing is as it seems, and legends come from the unlikeliest of persons. Draken knows about the tales and those chosen for prophecies - he comes from the Isles, after all. But he never had much faith that just anybody, even him, could become one of the greats. His entire life has been ordinary, just another one of thousands. Until a beast from legends of old attacks the person closest to his heart, and he is left alone in the world. Through a series of incidents, most of which revolve around chance and coincidence, he is ruthlessly thrust into a world foreign to him with strangers expecting him to be their savior and pawn. Battling against the rules that hold him prisoner, he starts making a name for himself - all the while fulfilling a prophecy that he wants no part of. As he is drawn into fight after fight, every night it hangs like a sword poised to come down - the constant struggle of survival, and the question of living yet another day. This is a poem that I wrote for a friend of mine who recently died. Her mother was driving a car when it plunged off a cliff, killing her mother, her two siblings, and her. At the moment it is complete, but it is an on going form of therapy for me, so it might be continued. Here's to you Anika.... Whatever is written here is from a grieving teenager so please ignore the darker tones. As a note I am putting this in Spiritual, and I have checked the guidelines. I feel that is where it fits best.
