"Your voice suits you," Lauren murmured, hardly even realizing she was speaking her thoughts aloud. "W-What?" Dinah blinked, seeming confused. "Your voice," Lauren replied, her voice a little stronger now. "It's almost as beautiful as you are." (OR: In which getting fired leads a moody Lauren to a bar, where a woman with the most incredible voice she's ever heard is sitting at the piano.)

In the end, Dinah knew she'd rather hold Lauren like this for as long as she could than risk it all on something so breakable. Lauren was worth too much to be careless with. As Lauren murmured something unintelligible against her neck, Dinah realized that recklessness was for people with nothing to lose. And Lauren was the opposite of nothing.

- Thursday (the rain won't last forever) - Lauren falls asleep hoping desperately that she'll manage to keep her heart beating even though it threatens to stop every time Dinah moves. (Dinah is so captivating, so alive. It's almost funny how that's the thing that steals Lauren's breath away.)
