Halloween is a time to scare. A time to enjoy sharing frightening stories of either fact or fiction. That's easy for the small town of Falls Creek. The town possesses an ugly history of previously inhabiting a homicidal cannibal, Richard Carling. For seventeen-year-old Cassi Ross, her Halloween night was supposed to be spent babysitting her favorite group of children As the night goes by with strange moments such as mysterious phone calls, scary occurrences, and a masked figure peering through the windows, it is quickly deduced someone is taking Halloween shenanigans' too far. Possible suspects could be any number of teenage pranksters celebrating the memory of a grisly killer, or even Cassi's fellow babysitter, who has an overwhelming love for scary movies, as well as a grudge against her. It all seems to be just fun and games apart of harmless Halloween fun...Until it's discovered there's something rather sinister behind it, where someone deeply invested in Richard Carling's memory wishes Cassi harm... ⭐ FEATURED ⭐ 02/16/2018 Longlisted, Wattys 2018 ✅ COMPLETE Jocasta's nineteen years of peaceful existence in a little village of the Kingdom of Ontur blew up in pieces without much warning: Grandmother had a secret, an old pact with a mysterious man-a pact that, apparently, Jo and her new tagalongs - a flamboyant mage, a goofball knight pledge and a young alchemist-now had to take care of, thanks to the untimely death of the King of Ontur. A quest to find an ancient place, concealing an artifact of unmeasurable power and rumored to be deadly. And posthaste, before it falls into the wrong hands. That's something all grandmothers ask of their granddaughters sometime in their lifetime, right? And all that was at stake was the stability of the kingdom: no pressure. Set in a world where magic is vital, where mages are as equally feared and shunned as they're needed. A temporarily Kingless kingdom where vultures wait for the perfect time to take a plunge. A world where secrets and lies are as abundant, dangerous and necessary as magic. But something else brews in the Kingdom of Ontur: something bigger than Jocasta and her Grandmother's secrets. ⭐ 1st place in Fantasy, The Crystal Crown Awards 2017 || Highest ranking : #46 in Fantasy 03/04/2018 #writteninaction you can read a review here: https://www.wattpad.com/471550430-island-of-lost-toys-reviews-great-reads-for-the

Destiny. It was a funny thing. I had always thought that I could create my own destiny. But after attending my junior year at Nox Haven, I knew that wasn't possible. My destiny was written two hundred years before my birth, when my ancestor- The Dark Warlock- created a cult of Dark Ones. It was my destiny to rid the world of his mistake- but I didn't know how. That was the funny part, I knew what I had to do but I didn't know how. Nobody wrote that part of the prophecy. I would figure it out though, two of my beloved friends were dead because the Dark Ones. I swore on their graves that no one else would follow. **Book Three in the Nox Haven Series**

I'd Like to think I was a good person, before it all began. I didn't cheat on tests, or steal. But throughout my entire life, I was treated if I were a monster. At the age of five, after several agonizing tests, I was diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder. But not even that title could describe just how strange I was. When another kid got hurt, I would cry. Whenever someone else was told a funny joke, I would laugh hysterically. People looked at me as if I were crazy- and for while I agreed with them. That was until I, Caddie Jones, was exiled to Nox Haven Academy, a school for truly special kids. Not the mentally ill, psychotic kind of special but the magical kind. Like witches, vampires, fairies and werewolves. Call me crazy if you want, you wouldn't be the first. But the stories are all true. The supernatural did exist and I was one of them. Life there was cool until suddenly, I was faced with two-faced witches, egotistical princes, hormone driven werewolves, and an army of evil warlocks who were threatening to destroy the world. ... Maybe Nox Haven was a school for psychos after all. ---------------------------------------------------------- Highest Rank: #2 in Paranormal 1st Place winner of The Night Shift's Killer Competition 4/10/16 Illustration by: Stephanie Pitino (www.ClairObscur.fr) (1st book in series)
