Spain is at the height of his power; constantly finding himself out of the house. But when he realizes that his little brother, Romano, is sick of being alone during his long trips away, Spain goes on a voyage in the hopes of finding his brother a "friend". When Spain overpowers a small country named Philippines-just off the coasts of Europe-, he reluctantly claims her as his own and brings the young country back home for Romano. Unfortunately, this sets off the notorious England and a few other countries, who were planning to take Philippines as their own colony before Spain rudely cut them off.The story of the young Philippines then begins.

Maria (The Philippines, OC) falls down a mysterious hole and finds herself in a world they call 'Wonderland'. She meets new friends, new enemies, and even falls in love with a crazy, yet handsome man (the Mad Hatter AKA America), a half-rabbit (the March Hare AKA England), one of the Italian brothers (Romano), and a guy who smokes all the time and can transform into a caterpillar (2P!
