Christmas with family and friends brings happiness and joy. Christmas with the Doctor brings mystery and adventure. All he wanted was to have a nice holiday trip with Clara; a vacation to the planet Mistletoe. He didn't ask for ice monsters or plant zombies, although that was an added bonus.
