Book 3 of Reverse. Can be read as a stand-alone. bxb Being a male prostitute wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Every rake in England likely dreamed of the job, but Hollem could tell them that it wasn't all sex and sweet talk. He watched liars stalk through the doors at half past midnight, their heads held high, as if they weren't cheating on their wives. Young lads would come in during the early evening, drunk off their minds. Dealing with them was one of his main duties. They always thought that just because they had money, that they could have a go at any girl they wished. Well, that wasn't how his mistress's brothel was run. He had his own clients more often than one would think. Ladies of high prestige were common during the early hours of the morning, seeking a satiation that their husbands couldn't provide. Ruined ladies also found their way to him, dreaming of a love that they could no longer find due to losing their womanhood before marriage. Rarely, he had male clients. Usually they were young lads about their twenties. They were always hesitant and quiet. Nervous. More than half of them were sent away with a short talk. The few he did take to bed were given what they had come for, but they weren't loved. That was an emotion Hollem believed to be untrue, and he considered nothing able to change his mind on that fact.

BOOK ONE Coming out was supposed to set Julian free. Instead, it left him with a broken arm, a mother who won't stop preaching, and a silence that grows heavier every day. High school feels like a cage, and Julian is certain he doesn't belong anywhere-until Paul crashes into his world. With his inked skin, effortless charm, and a following that makes him untouchable, Paul should be the last person Julian lets close. But in Paul's arms, Julian feels something he's never known before: safe. As their connection deepens, so does the danger. Loving Paul means risking exposure, rejection, and heartbreak all over again. Worse, it means facing the cruelest voice of all-the one inside Julian's own head. Tender, raw, and unflinching, Open is a story about first love, first heartbreak, and finding the courage to believe you're worthy of both. ::: I could feel it when his body finally went slack, when he'd fallen asleep and soft snores emitted. And I thought I was getting better at this breaking down thing... I honestly did but when I was alone, I seemed to fall apart. Endless serenades of how worthless I'd been and how destructive I was; I was a disappointment to literally everyone and I hated it. My breathing became shallow as I cried for the second time that day, finally feeling content being immersed in guilt. A shudder wracked through my body, tears escaping and Paul pulled me closer as he woke silently. Mumbling soft nothings against my skin and kissing it to slow my breathing, he tried to lull me to sleep, "It's okay, you're okay." Refusing to speak -my voice failing me- his arm came up to wrap around my shoulder and I held him there, placing a small kiss to his tattooed skin in a broken sign of gratitude, I must've run out of tears. And I felt at ease.

As a kid, Raphael was a homophobic bully. Now, at age 23, he's grown out of the bully act. His homophobia? Still there, but it doesn't show often―after all, there are no gay people around him. Just his mom, ex-girlfriend, and daughter, Mia. Or so he thinks, until a phone call one morning comes with news that puts him face-to-face with his prejudice. But shaking prejudice is hard when your ashamed family, some hungry reporters, and a stubborn gay activist are breathing down your neck. Changing is hard, especially when you've buried skeletons.
