I'm sorry. There isnt any cure." The doctor finished. I stare at the man. Ive been in the hospital for two week doing every test available. All for them to tell me this? "So basically, you're saying my daughter has a heart disease, that has no cure... That my baby...." My mother chokes "has two holes in her heart?" She sobs. My dad rubs circles on her back. "When... I mean what are the risks and statistics?" My dad asks eagerly searching for some thing he can understand, like numbers. The doctor sighed. "Well, very few people get this disease. We can't figure out if its genetic or hereditary or how its contracted. There isn't any cure. Statistically speaking, after the first heart attack, they usually have a year to live.." At that, my mothers sobs grew louder. "However, sometimes the patient is able to live a long tome after the diagnosis. Around ten years. The longest documented case of someone living with this disease is 15. Hopefully, she'll beat that record."
So that was it. He basically gave me about a year to live. After that, everyday could be my last. Fuck.
