Starting off where The Vampire Diaries Season 3 ended, Elena Gilbert is now a vampire. Damon and Stefan Salvatore still fighting over her affections. Elena struggles to balance between her new vampire life and protecting her friends and Jeremy, her brother, from new evils and the return of an old enemy. Klaus is presumably dead but Elijah, Klaus's brother, knows he's not. Katherine and Elijah returns to Mystic Falls to team up with the Salvatores, Elena and her friends. However, Elena is starting to suspect her friends and the ones around her. Friend or enemy? And now that Katherine's going to be back in town, who knows what a mix up there can be between her and Elena. Who will Elena choose. Damon or Stefan? The council knows about the existance of vampires and werewolves in their town now thanks to Alaric notifying them before he died in season 3, what are they going to do? How will this all play out...
